Big Year for Missouri Archery Hunting
Missouri archery deer hunters had a big year during 2005. They bagged a total of 37,035 deer which was just a little short of the record of 37,795 archery deer taken during the 2004 season.
Total 2005 archery and firearms hunting yielded 286,943 deer, down from the 312,873 deer killed during the 2004 season. State hunting officials attributed the decrease to an abundance of natural food for the deer in the forests, which made them less likely to travel and be seen.
